This highly interactive, skills-based, muti-media workshop is designed to increase critical thinking, personal development, and media awareness skills for young boys and girls. It will enhance participants understanding of gender stereotypes and roles portrayed in various mediums of media. MAN in the Media / SHE will also help youth achieve competency in the skills that have been found to help cultivate healthy and productive lifestyles.

This workshop is geared towards parents, teachers, and organizations that engage with youth to help infom and educate them of the coded language that is found in various mediums of media. Our focus is to increase the awareness of the effect that media messages have on children and youth. Hip Pop Culture will also enhace their ability to recognize, analyze, evaluate, produce and participate in countering negative messages in the area of audio, video, print, electronics, and new media.

The F Word - Loving Yourself From the Inside Out

The F-word is an in your face approach to embracing oneself. This workshop helps young and old alike to understand the importance of gettng that ugly "fat" word out of our vocabulary. For many students, nothing matters more than how others perceive them, but what makes the most difference is how we perceive ourselves. That comes from being healthy inside and out, starting first with what we put into our bodies. Participants will learn some quips that remind them of what is best for their insides and how it materializes on the outside. This workshop is sure to resonate through the grocery isles and in our mirrors.
